Big Word Search

Last updated · 5 August 2026

Big Word Search ("the app", "we", "us") is published by Peidus Products OÜ. This policy explains how the app handles your data. In short: the app works offline and needs no account. It uses a small amount of anonymous usage analytics to help us improve; the other information that leaves your device is what an ad needs to be served to free players, and what an optional in-app purchase needs to be processed by our payment providers. None of this identifies you personally.

Information we do not collect

  • We do not collect your name, contacts, photos, or location.
  • We ask for your email address only if you write to us from inside the app — see If you contact support.
  • Whether the advertising identifier is used to personalise ads is your choice — see Advertising below.
  • No account, sign-in, or registration is required to use the app.

Information stored only on your device

Your puzzle progress and found words, daily streak, statistics, hints, and settings are stored locally on your device. This data never leaves your device, is not transmitted to us, and is permanently removed when you uninstall the app.

Anonymous usage analytics

We use PostHog (hosted in the EU) to understand how the app is used so we can improve it. We attach a random identifier generated on your device that is not derived from any device or personal identifier and does not identify you. We record product events such as starting and completing a puzzle (its difficulty and theme, how long it took, and how many hints were used), continuing a daily streak, viewing the upgrade screen, completing a purchase, and whether you enabled or tapped the daily reminder, together with coarse, non-identifying device and diagnostic information. We never send the puzzle grid or the words themselves, any text you enter, or any personal or advertising identifiers. See PostHog's Privacy Policy.

Advertising (free version only)

Free players may see ads served by Google AdMob. You choose whether those ads are personalised.

You are asked when you finish the introduction, before any ad is requested. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland you are shown Google’s consent form; on iOS you are also shown Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you agree, your advertising identifier may be used to personalise ads and is shared with Google for that purpose. If you decline, ads are served non-personalised — AdMob still receives standard, device-level signals in the ad request, which is what allows an ad to be shown at all and to be frequency-capped.

You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Ad privacy settings (shown where consent applies), and on iOS in the system Settings under Privacy & Security → Tracking. Premium players see no ads. See Google’s Privacy Policy.

Purchases

If you buy a subscription or the lifetime upgrade, the payment is processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, and entitlements are managed through our purchases provider, RevenueCat, Inc. To enable and restore purchases, RevenueCat processes:

  • an anonymous app-user identifier generated on your device;
  • purchase and transaction details and your subscription status;
  • basic device and platform information needed to validate the purchase.

This information is used solely to deliver and restore your purchases and premium access. It is never used for advertising. RevenueCat acts as our data processor. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy. Your actual payment details (card, billing information) are handled entirely by Apple or Google; we never see or store them.

If you contact support

The app has a “Help & support” form. If you choose to use it, we receive the email address and the message you write, so that we can reply. This is the only case in which we hold an email address for you. We use it to answer you and for nothing else — never for advertising, and it is not shared with anyone. Ask us at any time and we will delete it.

Notifications

The app can show an optional local daily reminder. These notifications are scheduled on your device only. No notification server is used and no data is sent to us.

Children

The app is intended for a general, adult audience and is not directed at children under 13.

Your rights

Because your puzzle data is stored only on your device, you can erase it at any time by deleting the app. Our analytics use only an anonymous identifier and are not tied to your identity; reinstalling the app generates a new one. For purchase-related data held by RevenueCat, you may request access or deletion by contacting us. Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA/UK under the GDPR, or California under the CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You can revisit your advertising choice at any time as described under Advertising, and we will delete an email address you sent us through the support form on request.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above will reflect any changes.
