EarBird

EarBird: Bird Song Quiz (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is a bird-song quiz for learning to recognise birds by ear, published by Peidus Products OÜ. This policy explains how the app handles your data. In short: the app is private by design. It needs no account, the bird sounds and photos are bundled on your device, and your progress and life list stay there. The only information that leaves your device is the data needed to process an optional purchase.

Information we do not collect

• We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, or location.
• No account, sign-in, or registration is required to use the app.
• The app shows no advertising, does not track you across other apps or websites, and does not use the advertising identifier.

Stored only on your device

Your quiz progress, streaks, species mastery, life list, and settings are stored in a local database on your device. This data never leaves your device, is not transmitted to us, and is permanently removed when you uninstall the app.

Analytics

The app currently contains no analytics service. No usage data is sent to us or to any third party. If we add anonymous usage analytics in a future version, we will update this policy first and describe exactly what is collected.

Purchases

The app offers an optional premium upgrade. Payment is processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, and entitlements are managed through our purchases provider, RevenueCat, Inc. To enable and restore purchases, RevenueCat processes:

• an anonymous app-user identifier generated on your device;
• purchase and transaction details and your purchase status;
• basic device and platform information needed to validate the purchase.

This information is used solely to deliver and restore your purchases and premium access. It is never used for advertising. RevenueCat acts as our data processor. See RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy. Your actual payment details (card, billing information) are handled entirely by Apple or Google; we never see or store them.

Bird sounds and photos

The bird audio recordings in the app are sourced from xeno-canto and the bird photographs from Wikimedia Commons, all under Creative Commons licences (CC0, CC BY, or CC BY-SA). This content is bundled with the app — playing it involves no network request and no data about you. Per-item attributions and licences are listed in the app.

Children

The app is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13.

Your rights

Because your progress and settings are stored only on your device, you can erase them at any time by deleting the app. For purchase-related data held by RevenueCat, you may request access or deletion by contacting us. Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA/UK under the GDPR, or California under the CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above will reflect any changes.
