Verso: Bible Screen Time

Last updated · 31 July 2026

Verso: Bible Screen Time ("the app", "we", "us") is published by Peidus Products OÜ. This policy explains how the app handles your data. In short: the app is built to be private by design. It needs no account and has no server of its own — your reading, your streak and the list of apps you lock all stay on your device. The free version shows a small number of ads; they are never personalized, and they never appear on Scripture.

Information we do not collect

  • We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, photos, or location.
  • No account, sign-in, or registration is required to use the app.
  • We do not sell or share your data with data brokers, and we do not track you across other apps or websites. Ads in the free version are contextual, not based on a profile of you.
  • We never see what you read, what you write in your journal, or which apps you lock.

Screen Time and the apps you lock

To shield the apps you choose until you have read today's verse, the app uses Apple's Screen Time (the Family Controls, Managed Settings and Device Activity frameworks), with your explicit permission. This is for your own self-regulation on your own device — it is not a parental-control or monitoring feature.

When you pick apps to lock, iOS provides the app with opaque tokens that represent your selection. These tokens are meaningful only on your device and are stored on your device (in an app group shared with the app's Screen Time extensions). We never receive the tokens, the names of the apps you selected, or any of your Screen Time or usage data. None of it leaves your device.

Information stored only on your device

Your streak, journal, reading position, plan progress, settings, and app-lock selection are stored locally on your device. The complete Bible is bundled with the app and read offline. This data never leaves your device, is not transmitted to us, and is permanently removed when you uninstall the app.

Anonymous usage analytics

The app may use PostHog (hosted in the EU) to understand, in aggregate, how the app is used so we can improve it. When enabled, it attaches a random identifier generated on your device that does not identify you and is not derived from any device or personal identifier. We record only coarse product events (for example, completing a reading or viewing the upgrade screen) and non-identifying diagnostic information. We never send what you read, your journal, the apps you lock, or any personal identifiers. See PostHog's Privacy Policy.

Advertising

The free version of the app shows a small number of ads, served by Google AdMob. We request non-personalized ads only: they are selected from context, not from a profile of you, and we do not use Apple's advertising identifier or ask to track you. Ads never appear while you are reading Scripture, and never during your daily reading ritual. To serve and measure ads, Google processes technical data such as your IP address and basic device information; see Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses data in AdMob. A premium purchase removes ads entirely.

Purchases

If you buy the optional premium upgrade, the payment is processed by the Apple App Store, and entitlements are managed through our purchases provider, RevenueCat, Inc. To enable and restore purchases, RevenueCat processes an anonymous app-user identifier generated on your device, your purchase and subscription details, and basic device information needed to validate the purchase. This is used solely to deliver and restore your purchases, never for advertising. RevenueCat acts as our data processor. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy. Your actual payment details are handled entirely by Apple; we never see or store them.

Notifications

With your permission, the app shows a local reminder for your daily reading. These notifications are scheduled on your device only. No notification server is used and no data is sent to us. You can turn them off in the app's settings or in your device settings.

Children

The app is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13.

Your rights

Because your reading, progress, and preferences are stored only on your device, you can erase them at any time by deleting the app. For any purchase-related data held by RevenueCat, you may request access or deletion by contacting us. Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA/UK under the GDPR, or California under the CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Our analytics, when enabled, use only anonymous data that is not tied to your identity.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above will reflect any changes.
